A court order either preventing or requiring a party to do something.  An injunction may be granted as part of a final judgment.  A preliminary injunction may be issued before a final judgment only where it is likely the party requesting it would suffer irreparable injury if the injunction is not granted, or in any case specially authorized by statute.
